A Foundation of Academic Excellence

Dr. Sharma earned his MB ChB from the University of Glasgow before completing his advanced surgical training at the Northwestern Deanery in the United Kingdom, and he’s licensed to practise in Alberta, England, and Scotland. He gained clinical experience at Transform, one of Europe's largest cosmetic surgery clinics, and co-founded the London Medical Group. His academic and clinical training spans the UK, Italy, France, and Canada, and he’s taken the best aspects of each country’s approach to develop his own strategic clinical process.

The Physician Behind Your Procedure

Trained in Europe's Most Demanding Clinics

Dr. Sharma's surgical training took place across some of Europe's most competitive clinical environments, where high patient volumes and rigorous standards shaped his technical approach. Outside the UK, Dr. Sharma completed additional training in Milan and Paris to broaden his clinical perspective, merging innovative European methods with cutting-edge North American practices to create natural-looking, long-lasting outcomes for patients. The standards he developed in those settings are the same ones he applies daily to hair restoration procedures in Edmonton.

Surgical Planning Built on Objective Data

Before recommending any procedure, Dr. Sharma uses advanced TrichoScan technology to assess each patient's donor hair density and lifetime graft availability. This removes the guesswork from surgical planning, providing greater accuracy than other clinics that estimate graft counts visually. TrichoScan delivers objective measurements that inform every decision, guiding Dr. Sharma’s procedure planning through the following:

  • Follicular density mapping across the entire donor area
  • Lifetime graft availability and safe extraction limits
  • Hair calibre, growth angle, and follicular unit composition
  • Hair loss staging using Norwood-Hamilton or Ludwig classification

A Deliberate Choice to Specialise

Early in his career, Dr. Sharma made a deliberate decision to focus exclusively on hair restoration surgery as a physician. He believes that depth of focus produces better outcomes than breadth of services, so he does not deviate to facial procedures or unrelated aesthetic care. As a patient, you’ll enjoy the meticulous precision and expertise that comes from performing the same category of procedure, to the same standard, every single day.

Continuous Clinical Improvement

As a physician, Dr. Sharma lives by the following motto: “One will never pursue true excellence if we feel we are excellent; we can never be good enough.” His drive for ongoing refinement permeates every facet of our practice, pushing boundaries and raising standards with each procedure.

Why Choose Dr. Sharma for Your Hair Restoration?

At the Canadian Hair Transplant Centre, your experience will be grounded in clinical excellence and customised care at every level. As an active member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), Dr. Sharma follows the industry's most stringent patient safety protocols, using only the most advanced tools and technology at his practice.

With over 1,000 successful procedures across Alberta, Dr. Sharma’s clinical record speaks for itself. Unlike in practices where a physician consults and then steps aside, Dr. Sharma personally performs every extraction, incision, and hairline decision, and that commitment will never change based on caseload or schedule.

Dr. Sharma's Patient Care Philosophy

Dr. Sharma approaches every consultation with the understanding that most patients have already spent considerable time researching their hair restoration options. He’s not here to push certain procedures or suggest unnecessary treatments.

His role as a physician is to assess, inform, and advise based on what the clinical picture of your scalp actually supports.

If surgery is not the right course of action for your anatomy or stage of hair loss, he’ll say so directly and provide viable alternatives. If the timing isn’t right, he’ll explain why, walking you through realistic timelines for the future. His commitment to honest, evidence-based communication has helped him build a reputation for high-quality care among patients in Edmonton, and you’ll receive the same care from your first consultation onward.

This Hair Transplant Surgeon Is Also A Pilot

It's not a secret that Dr. Sharma is also passionate about flying and being a pilot. When he was younger, he trained to pilot huge aircraft. Now he enjoys flying in his spare time while helping others regain confidence through hair restoration. See your hair transplant surgeon fly a plane!

Dr. Sharma Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect at my first consultation with Dr. Sharma?

During your initial consultation, Dr. Sharma will perform a full scalp assessment using TrichoScan imaging, review your medical history, and discuss your aesthetic goals. The appointment is clinical, but you’ll have an unhurried conversation so Dr. Sharma can fully understand your concerns and desired look. You’ll receive an honest assessment of your candidacy and a clear explanation of your options.

Does Dr. Sharma perform hair restoration procedures on women?

Yes. Female hair restoration is a distinct clinical category, and Dr. Sharma has experience assessing and treating female pattern hair loss. A consultation is required to determine candidacy, as the clinical approach differs from male pattern restoration.

How does Dr. Sharma decide how many grafts I need?

Graft planning is based on TrichoScan imaging rather than visual estimation. This maps your donor density and lifetime follicle supply objectively, so the recommended graft count reflects your actual anatomy rather than a generalised estimate inflated by poor visibility.

Schedule Your Surgical Consultation

Hair transplant surgery requires careful evaluation and planning. Schedule a consultation to determine if you are a candidate for FUE or FUT procedures. The assessment includes donor evaluation, recipient area analysis, and discussion of realistic outcomes based on your individual characteristics. For medical therapy options, consult with your primary physician or dermatologist.
